EVA Mitsui Chemicals 260
EVA Mitsui Chemicals 260
Product Introduction EVA Mitsui Chemicals 260 resin is an ethylene‑vinyl‑acetate copolymer with vinyl acetate (VA) content of 28 wt% and melt flow rate (MFR) of 6 g/10min. It delivers good flexibility, elasticity and processability.
Main Applications
Films and Sheets: Used for manufacturing packaging films including food‑packaging films and heat‑shrinkable films, functional agricultural greenhouse films, and intermediate layers for polyolefin laminated films. Its advantages lie in high transparency and excellent heat‑sealing performance.
Hot‑melt Adhesives & Coatings: With VA content ranging from 20‑28 wt%, it is widely used for hot‑melt adhesives and coating products, suitable for book binding, furniture edge‑banding, electronic assembly and other applications.
Shoe‑materials & Foamed Products: Commonly used as foamed midsole material for sports and casual shoes. It is also widely applied in soles and interior parts of mid‑to‑high‑grade travel shoes, mountaineering shoes, slippers and sandals. Its blended foamed articles feature softness, good elasticity and chemical‑corrosion resistance.
Wire and Cable: Suitable for wire sheaths, featuring high strength, flame retardancy, water resistance, impact resistance and chemical‑corrosion resistance.
Injection‑molded Products: Applied to toys, daily consumer goods, sports equipment, automotive accessories such as shock absorbers, fenders, interior and exterior trim parts.
Other Applications: Also includes sealants, industrial components, building materials such as sound‑insulating boards and gymnastics mats, as well as photovoltaic encapsulant films with high light transmittance and strong bonding property.

Applicable Processes
‑Injection Molding: For toys, automotive parts and household‑appliance components. ‑Extrusion Molding: Commonly used for films, sheets and wire‑cable sheaths. ‑Blow Molding: For hollow articles such as bottles. ‑Foaming Molding: For foamed products such as shoe materials and padding materials. ‑Hot‑melt Processing: Suitable for preparation of adhesives and sealants.
Processing Characteristics
Drying: Drying before processing is recommended if the material absorbs moisture to avoid bubbles or silver streaks in finished parts.
Processing Temperature: It is critical for EVA processing. Melt temperature is generally recommended not to exceed 230°C. EVA resin has low thermal‑decomposition temperature; excessively high temperature will easily cause material degradation.
Mold Temperature: Relatively low mold temperature is generally recommended.
Equipment Selection: Conventional thermoplastic‑processing equipment can be adopted.
Cooling: Products normally require rapid cooling for setting.
